Powerful cherry fruit on the nose that highlights black rather than red berry profile. Alongside berries, apricot jam, blood orange and stone fruit tones arise on top of the deep, softly spicy core. The palate is full of fruit too with both a vertical and horizontal sumptuousness. Soft but fresh acidity intermingles with the sturdy phenolics of the wine, bringing structure. A big, bold and immediately expressive Dom Pérignon has a lot of character to it. I am looking forward to seeing the path it takes with additional ageing, a wild one full of personality.
